Peterson Garden Project is a non-profit organization that works to bring healthy food to Chicago communities through community gardening. They currently oversee 7 gardens throughout the city.

Openlands protects the natural and open spaces of northeastern Illinois and the surrounding region to ensure cleaner air and water, protect natural habitats and wildlife, and help balance and enrich our lives.

Openlands’ vision for the region is a landscape that includes a vast network of land and water trails, tree-lined streets, and intimate public gardens within easy reach of every city dweller. It also includes parks and preserves big enough to provide natural habitat and to give visitors a sense of the vast prairies, woodlands, and wetlands that were here before the cities. In sum, Openlands believes that protected open space is critical for the quality of life of our region.

All of the food grown in the garden is donated to the Northwest Church of Christ, located at 4602 N. Kilbourn. This pantry serves 70-80 local families.

Neighbor Space is committed to the mission of preserving and expanding community managed Green/Open Space in Chicago. It offers protection for Community Garden against development.

In keeping with the mission of the Chicago Park District, the project will serve to enhance the quality of life in Chicago by providing recreation, leisure and educational opportunities in a safe, inviting and beautifully maintained facility.
